for years I say I’m going to clean out the recipe box, take all the bits & pieces of recipes scribbled on paper & do something with them, I still have recipes from the 70’s that I cut off the back of food boxes & out of magazines lol! this one was from the back of a bisquick box
I use to make this apple coffee cake a lot back in the day, one of these days I’m going to make a scrapbook of all my old treasured recipes , just looking at it makes me want to make one!
TOPPING :
mix 1/4 c sugar
2 tbsp Bisquick baking mix
2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 Tbsp firm margarine or butter
Blend until crumbly, set aside
MIX
2 c Bisquick baking mix
2 tbsp. sugar
1 egg
2/3 c water or milk
1 c finely chopped apple
Heat oven to 400, grease round layer pan 9x1 1/2" or square pan 8x8x2 ( I always just used one of my round cake pans) prepare topping, mix baking mix, sugar, egg & water, beat for 30 seconds, stir in apple, spread batter into pan, sprinkle with topping, bake until wooden toothpick comes out clean 20-25 min. refrigerate any remaining coffee cake, makes about 8 servings
can you believe I’ve held on to this recipe for nearly 40 years?now that’s what we call a recipe box keeper! lol! how about you? do you have recipes worth hanging on to?

I inherited some of my mom's old recipes.
I don't know how old they are.
